Make it Yours Upcycle Center promotes creative reuse of unwanted items. We collect discarded materials from the public that can be reused & given new life. We accept & sell a wide range of items from school & office supplies, party supplies, & supplies for every craft you can think of. We also accept non-traditional craft items such as bottles, jars, plastic bottle caps, old keys, old key cards and gift cards, games and puzzles (even those with missing pieces), mardi gras beads, nuts and bolts, the contents of your junk drawer & so much more. Donations are sold at our store by the pound & by the piece at low prices.
We encourage the public to rethink, reduce & reuse BEFORE recycling. While recycling is a great alternative to throwing items away, it is not the most cost effective option and requires a great deal of energy and resources. Creative reuse of unwanted items just requires an imagination and maybe a bit of glue and elbow grease. We have an unlimted amount of ideas on our Pinterest board, please follow us.
Our retail store is just phase 1 of our center. With community support we hope to have a classroom by the end of the year that will be available for public & private classes. The classroom will be perfect for craft parties of any type.
The next phase will be a larger retail area for bigger items like furniture. We also hope to have a community workshop & a sort of co-lab space as well.
We are centrally located in Welton & can serve Clinton, Scott, Jackson and surrounding counties. We are a short drive from anywhere. Please call 1st if unsure.
We are located at 411 Main Street in Welton. We are 6 miles north of DeWitt & 12 miles south of Maquoketa off of highway 61. Easy drive from places like Dubuque, Davenport, Clinton, Anamosa, Calamus.
