Area businesses are invited to participate in the DCDC’s bi-annual Manufacturing Day & STEM Fest. Your business does not need to be a manufacturing company to be part of this great event! Most non-manufacturing businesses utilize skills that fall under the Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) categories. We’d love for you to be part of this two hour event, engaging nearly ONE THOUSAND 7-12th grade students from rural Clinton County School Districts (Calamus-Wheatland, Central DeWitt and Northeast). The event will provide an opportunity for you, as a local manufacturer or business, to illustrate your role in these industries and promote career opportunities available to this future workforce. In order to keep this event fun and engaging, we will have different sessions for the students. They will hear from four different speakers, tour the CTE rooms and participate in the STEM Fest, which will include hands-on interactive booths, illustrating your business, how and what you manufacture, how you use today’s technologies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), OR how you supports these industries. If you are interested in supporting this workforce development initiative by having a STEM Fest booth for your business, or you need more details regarding the event, please contact Erin at becoordinator@dewittiowa.org.
