Knights of Columbus Council 959 of DeWitt, Council 707 of Clinton and Camanche, and Council 16,694 of Grand Mound, Lost Nation, Toronto, and Oxford Junction will hold a Blue Mass Tuesday Sept. 19 for Clinton County police, firefighters and EMS personnel.
The Mass will be presided by Bishop Thomas Zinkula and is intended to recognize all fire, police, EMS and other first responders for their service and dedication to the residents of Clinton County. The service is called a Blue Mass because of the blue uniforms that first responders wear. It is an ecumenical service open to individuals of all faiths.
In keeping with the significance and solemnity of this event, it is requested that personnel attending wear the dress uniform of their respective department. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
There will be a reception following the Mass with light refreshments.
